This is a spring/summer collection that I designed as a school project. The story of the collection is about a girl who attends a public dance for the first time, and through this event finds herself in the biggest crossroad of her life: leaving her childhood world and taking a step towards the adult one. This can be seen in the collection in the way how some clothes are a bit girly, and some are more classic and mature.
The theme of the assignment was Past Modern. To put it short, we had to take some elements from the history of Finland and bring the clothes up-to-date with a modern twist. I was inspired by traditional Finnish costumes and ended up mixing in some modern prints and cuts with a small touch of Japanese mystique.
The collection is for women who cherish quality clothes and aren't afraid of wearing the same dress twice. The materials are carefully chosen and made to last. Most of them are recycled, so the collection is also eco-friendly.
The collection includes 15 garments. I put together three outfits that were also presented in the Aurelia15 Past Modern Fashion Show.
